HIGH-TEMPERATURE RAGALUVO FOR MGO CALCINATION FURNACE

HIGH-TEMPERATURE RAGALUVO FOR MGO CALCINATION FURNAC

To improve the overall efficiency of an MgO calcination furnace, a high-temperature RAGALUVO (air preheater) was integrated to utilise waste heat. The hot exhaust air generated during the process is extracted after the recuperator but before the product filter and is specifically cooled via the newly installed high-temperature heat exchanger.

The recovered thermal energy is then used to further heat the fresh air (combustion air for the furnace), which has already been preheated by an existing air preheater. The previously used secondary cyclone is no longer required due to this new system.

This solution makes a significant contribution to increase energy efficiency and enables a more sustainable furnace operation while maintaining process reliability.
