Flue gases from an aluminium melting furnance, directly fired with natural gas, are used to preheat the fresh air required for combustion.
For the highest possible efficiency, the heat exchange takes place in multiple stages in cross-countercurrent. The heat exchanger is installed direcly on the furnance.
